Police, Fire and Ambulance Personnel Rescue elderly woman on Richmond Hills and two accidents overnight

Richmond Hills - Jimmy Lee Creek Walking track

On Wednesday morning at 9.45 Police, Fire and St John’s Ambulance were called to rescue a woman who fell on a walking track on the Richmond Hills close to Valhalla Close.

The track was the Jimmy Lee Creek Walking track.

She was treated by ambulance for a severe shoulder injury and the rescue helicopter could not rescue her due to the power lines overhead according to police.

She was carried out by police, fire and ambulance personnel and did not arrive at hospital until hours later.

The Nelson Marlborough District Health Board were unable to identify the woman and could not give an update on her condition. It is known though that her shoulder will need to be replaced and the Hospital doesn’t have the parts for the operation.

There has also been two vehicle accidents overnight one person crashed into trees in Tapawera with no one injured and and a person crashed a car into a house in Wakefield with resulting serious injuries.
